Position Overview: As a Personal Intern to Pastor Daniel at City Life Church in Portsmouth, you will have the unique opportunity to work closely alongside Pastor Daniel, gaining valuable experience in pastoral ministry and leadership. This internship is designed for individuals who aspire to become Pastors/apostolic leaders in the future and are eager to learn and serve within a thriving church environment, and advance God's Kingdom.

Responsibilities:

  1. Pastoral Assistance: You will assist Pastor Daniel with various tasks related to church life and pastoral responsibilities, such as attending meetings, conducting pastoral visits, addressing pastoral issues, administrative duties, outreach, discipleship, prayer, Kingdom ministry, networking, participating in various gatherings and problem solving.

  2. Mentorship: Learn from Pastor Daniel through mentorship sessions, gaining insights into practical life skills, leadership, and spiritual development.

  3. Sermon Crafting: Acquire the skills needed to craft impactful sermons under the guidance of Pastor Daniel. You will have opportunities to observe and participate in the sermon preparation process.

  4. Church Leadership: Gain exposure to church leadership and management, participating in decision-making processes and administrative tasks that contribute to the overall functioning of the church and the Gateway People Movement.

  5. Sunday Service Preparation: Assist Pastor Daniel in preparing for Sunday services, which may include putting together PowerPoint presentations and other materials to enhance the worship experience for our congregation.

  6. Travel Opportunities: At times will be asked to accompany Pastor Daniel when he ministers at other churches, gatherings and conferences. This will provide exposure to different ministry contexts and the chance to learn from experienced leaders and followers of Christ.

  7. Additional Tasks: Assist with any other tasks and projects assigned by Pastor Daniel that contribute to the growth and well-being of City Life Church and the Gateway People Movement and Gods Kingdom

Typical Internship Schedule:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

  • Sunday: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM, 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM

  • Various Evenings: As needed

Qualifications:

  • Genuine desire to become more Christ like and exploring the call to be a pastor or church leader of some kind.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Eagerness to learn and a teachable spirit.

  • Willingness to serve and go the extra mile

  • Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.

  • Commitment to the mission, vision and values of City Life Church and the Gateway People Movement.

Financial Requirements: Please note that the selected intern must come fully funded for the year and be able to support themselves financially throughout the duration of the internship. This could be through sponsorships or working part time.
