Coronavirus (COVID-19) Latest Update (Issued on 12th May 2020 & cont.)

Following on from our update below, we now have another update on our plans for CLC after the latest announcement from the government. Currently, as you know, we have been holding all of our services online waiting for the right time and instructions to be able to move to the next stages for us as a church.

Our motto for this entire period of time has and is all about “Your Safety is our Priority, we love you and we want to protect you as much as possible”.

PHASE 1 – Eating & sharing lunch outside around the church with the NEW govt guidelines in place ~

  • Every Sunday starting the 16th of May, CLC will be offering a place outside for people who would like to come after the online broadcast in the hours of 11.45 am until 1 pm.  (the last call will be around 12.45)
  • The round tables will be placed outside with social distancing in place with up to 6 people of 2 households only or 6 different individuals per table OR you can seat more if only ONE household.
  • Due to the guidelines, Track & Trace will be in place at the front gate (the only entrance at the front) either with your app or if you don’t have the app, you will be asked to sign in. This is a requirement that we must follow.
  • Once inside the gate, you will be shown to the area where you can take a seat and again, according to the guidelines, you will need to remain seated at your table. Of course, you can talk to people from the other tables as long as you remain seated.
  • CLC will be serving teas and coffees from the side door by our Senior pastors & a few staff. Remember, feel free to bring your own packed lunch or snack or you may buy something from the local area.
  • The front doors will be open for the toilets with the stairs blocked off for no entry to the upstairs and the lower hall door will be locked.
  • This will be available until at least the end of the summer finishing in August.
  • Please do bear in mind that this will all be done WEATHER PERMITTING, if it is just light rain we will have a few large umbrellas available if needed.
  • Regarding hugging, the guidelines have stated that the transference of COVID has mainly been because of hugging, therefore, we are asking that FOR NOW, you refrain from hugging each other but of course this is your choice, however;
  • Our staff policy along with SLT for now and until further notice is that we will not be hugging anyone as we have been working closely together and mainly being with our families and are keen to keep that protection for now due to the need of staying healthy to be able to serve and lead you all.
  • Finally, please note that we love our community and have tried to be as honouring as possible and we want to continue to show this as a church through love and the following of what we are asked to do.
  • If you have any questions or concerns, please do write us at office@myclc.org.uk

PHASE 2 – Watching the broadcast together as a church UPSTAIRS  ~ Launching on the 6th of June until our first LIVE on the 27th (June 6th, 13th & 20th)

  • Starting Sunday the 6th of June, the doors will be opened to the public to come and join us to watch the service online together on the big screen upstairs
  • We do ask that you bear with us as we still have guidelines to follow but hopefully by the time we reach our LIVE service we are hoping that more restrictions will be lifted. Remember this is all about “Your safety being our priority” and because we love you, we want to protect you.
  • Doors will open from 10 am with the exit being once the online service is finished – please note that any hospitality for teas/coffees and socialising will be offered outdoors ONLY as outlined above in Phase 2 until further notice.
  • As social distancing of one metre and mask-wearing will most likely still be in play, this will be mandatory for those coming into the building until further notice and PERHAPS Track & Trace as well.
  • As we feel that we will be able to accommodate most, we are not offering tickets at this time, if it reaches overcapacity, it will be first-come, first-serve only after that.
  • Please note that while no kids services will be offered YET, there will be colouring sheets available and other similar quiet things for parents to make use of as children will be required to stay with their parents at all times.
  • The creche will be open for parents and BABIES to watch on the screen if need be but parents will be responsible for their own children and must exit with the upstairs group once the service has finished.
  • Remember the policy on hugging remains the same as mentioned in PHASE 1 above.
  • We are very excited to welcome you back in the building and look forward to seeing you all there very soon!

PHASE 3 – Our FIRST LIVE service back in the building ~ Sunday the 27th of June

  • WE ARE FULL AWARE that guidelines could very well change for the FIRST LIVE as another announcement will have been made so please note that all of the below is subject to change in areas so we will further update you closer to the time but for now, this would be the guidelines.
  • Doors will open from 10 am with the exit being once the online service is finished – please note that any hospitality for teas/coffees and socialising will be offered outdoors ONLY as outlined above in Phase 1 until further notice.
  • Please note that while kids services will be offered AND details for that will be out before that Sunday as they will look a bit different but they will be available.
  • The creche will be open for parents and BABIES to watch on the screen if need be but parents will be responsible for their own children and must exit with the upstairs group once the service has finished.
  • Remember the policy on hugging remains the same as mentioned in PHASE 1 above.
  • We are very excited to welcome you back in the building and look forward to seeing you all there very soon

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Latest Update (Issued on 17th March 2020 & cont.)

Dear Church Family,

Following the latest announcements from the government, we will be postponing the Gateway Conference and shifting our Sunday morning and evening services to our Church Online platform, until further notice.  We believe that it is important that we honour what is being advised and follow these guidelines in the campaign to protect people and ultimately overcome the coronavirus.

During this time of uncertainty, let’s continue to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, stay in faith and stay safe.  Let’s continue to pray for all those affected and ‘with wisdom’, and reach out to those in need.  Whilst big changes are occurring, the mission remains the same.  We are here to: Love God (heart, soul, mind, strength), Reach Out (locally, nationally and globally), and Serve people (following the example of Christ).

Please note that the Church building will be temporarily closed, and all activities during the week cancelled, or shifting to an online alternative.  The staff will still be working behind the scenes and are here for you.  Please do stay connected with us   and let us know if there’s anything we can do to support.  We don’t want anyone to feel on their own.  You can email our office via office@myclc.org.uk or message us through Facebook or Instagram.

Further Guidance and Some Encouragement:

In the midst of things shutting down, mass changes and challenges, be encouraged to grow closer in your relationship with God through reading and meditating the Bible, and spending time talking to the Lord in prayer.

You can take advantage of wonderful resources like the ‘YouVersion Bible App’ which you can freely download to your smart phone or tablet.  There you can choose some hope-filled daily reading plans which you may want to join in with others.  It’s a fantastic way to get stuck into the Word of God and connect with others.

Connect with us & one another Online:

We will also be providing some opportunities to connect with us through some online prayer gatherings, on top of the Sunday morning and evening services.  You’ll be able to access Sundays by clicking ‘Watch Live’ on our website or using the following link: http://churchonline.myclc.org.uk/   More details to follow.

Want to join us in helping others?

If you are willing to get involved with offering support to others through phone conversations, prayer, practical help and also volunteering with our online production, please do get in touch and let us know what you can offer and what your availability is.

Finally, if you are self-isolating out of precaution or have symptoms of coronavirus, please do let us know so we can best pray for and seek to support you.

God bless and much love,

Pastor Daniel (on behalf of the Senior Leadership Team)

‘For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.’ 2 Timothy 1:7
