Believe 

If you’re a member of the human race then God loves you; with an unending never giving up love.

But why would God love us; why would He love you?

If you have ever had a child then you may be able to understand something of how God feels towards you. When new parents see the picture of that ultrasound for the first time they are so proud of. They love that baby so much.

But why? The child doesn’t really look like much, they can’t do anything to impress us. Parent’s don’t love that child because he deserved it, They love, because it is their Child!

Whether you believe it or not, God created you. In Psalm 139v13 it says “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.”

You are the work of His hands, His own creation and nothing you or anyone else may do can change that fact or His love for you

Have you ever wondered why God feels so far away?

We are all born with a sin nature. You don’t need to teach a child to do wrong it is a part of our nature. We all do things that God sees as sin. Because of our sin, we are unable to have a relationship with God without forgiveness. There are consequences to sin, and that is separation from him. However because of God’s great love for us he gives us a gift, the gift of his Son who offers us forgiveness.

The plan was this, to send his own son, Jesus who was himself God, to be born as a human baby and live on this earth leading a perfect, sinless life, and when He had done this, to voluntarily offer His own life as a sacrifice to pay the penalty for our sin. Not just death but separation from God, the only time Jesus had ever been completely separated from His father.

This wonderful plan is summed up in one of the most well know Bible verses:

“This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, His one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending His Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in Him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust Him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person’s failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to Him.”

– John 3v16-18 (The Message)

God has done His part. Jesus gave His own life as a punishment for OUR sin. We didn’t deserve it. It wasn’t ‘fair’ but that’s how much God loves you. But now you have to decide if you want to accept this gift of forgiveness, this promise of eternal life. We must accept this free gift from God by committing our lives and heart to Jesus.

You can do this by praying this simple prayer.

Dear God, thank You for sending your Son to die on the cross for me. I acknowledge that I’ve made mistakes and that I’ve not led a perfect life. Please forgive me of my sin and come into my life. Change me from the inside out and empower me to live my life completely sold out for You. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and guide me always. In Jesus’ name I pray.
